Bridgeport | Valencia Portrait Photographer

There’s a storm brewing here in town regarding the Bridgeport development and their place within the greater Valencia masterplan. In a nutshell yesterday signs went up stating Bridgeport was private property for residents only and photography was specifically prohibited. According to the city of Santa Clarita the areas surrounding the lake at Bridgeport were always zoned and intended to have public access and those areas are considered part of the Valencia paseo network and therefor the signs are illegal and must be removed. Tonight the signs remain threatening prosecution if you enter Bridgeport or God forbid take a picture. I was asked to write an article on the subject for SCVtalk.com. Within 20 minutes of my article being posted the Signal Newspaper called and asked me for an interview. Clearly people pay attention to SCVtalk.com and the information and opinions shared there. Please go read the article, learn the details and leave some comments with your opinions on the situation. Here’s some pictures I’ve taken at Bridgeport over the years, it would be a darn shame if that area were no longer available to SCV residents even though the development was approved for construction based upon it being open the the public and part of the paseo network. Imagine what our beautiful community would be like if each neighborhood in Valencia declared their section of the paseos private property and blocked access. It certainly would no longer be the community we’ve all come to love and call home.

Wow, that’s a shame! The place looks beautiful

  2. jill hardy says:

hope it gets resolved soon, what a waste of a beautiful spot!

  3. Mike says:

So what is the final verdict! I would love to get pictures done here!

  4. Shannon says:

So, are you still doing photo shoots at Bridgeport since it is supposed to be public access to the paseo system around the lake?

    • Laurie says:

      Hi Shannon,
I have not used Bridgeport since. The signs are still up and I’d rather not subject my clients to potential harassment from residents. It’s a shame.
