Today I got to pho­to­graph the most gor­geous fam­ily! This mom won a free ses­sion at the grand open­ing of Stork Vision of Valen­cia where she had her 4D ultra­sound and last week her pre­cious bun­dle finally arrived. Meet 9 day old Cruz and his lovely mom and dad. Cruz is truly the most hand­some baby. All Cruz wanted to do was eat and only relaxed when he was nuz­zled in my new peanut shell. Every shoot truly is dif­fer­ent and you really have to fol­low the baby’s lead. Thank­fully mom and dad were game for any­thing and were just so relaxed and easy with their new baby. Last night was the Santa Clarita Baby Network’s first sem­i­nar, the event was a HUGE suc­cess! New and expec­tant par­ents of the SCV gath­ered at Gym­boree of Valen­cia to hear the Drs. Horowitz of Dis­cov­ery Pedi­atrics talk about new baby care. The top­ics cov­ered included “When to call the Dr.?” and “Impor­tant infor­ma­tion on Swine Flu and babies”. There was also a ques­tion and answer por­tion of the evening where a vari­ety of top­ics relat­ing to sleep pat­terns, breast feed­ing, and intro­duc­ing solids were dis­cussed. You know how dif­fi­cult is is to ask ques­tions at the pedi­a­tri­cians office with a sick baby in your lap, this was the per­fect oppor­tu­nity to have the pedi­a­tri­cians there to answer all those ques­tions new par­ents have in a relaxed, infor­mal set­ting. There were raf­fle prizes given out by the var­i­ous ven­dors of the Santa Clarita Baby Net­work includ­ing free mem­ber­ships to Gym­boree and Baby Boot­camp, a gift cer­tifi­cate for Stork Vision of Valen­cia, and a free por­trait sit­ting with yours truly. The Sig­nal News­pa­per sent a reporter and pho­tog­ra­pher to cover the event so keep an eye out for us there. Here are a few images from the event:

VALENCIA, CA 2009— The Santa Clarita Baby Net­work is pleased to wel­come The SCV’s lat­est bun­dle of joy— The Santa Clarita Baby Network’s first sem­i­nar! The Santa Clarita Baby Net­work is a uni­fied group of qual­ity busi­nesses that ser­vice new fam­i­lies in the Santa Clarita Val­ley. Together, they form a unique group pro­vid­ing access to a wide vari­ety of ser­vices in every stage of preg­nancy and new par­ent­hood. Avail­able to all fam­i­lies in the Santa Clarita Val­ley, The Santa Clarita Baby Net­work is offer­ing quar­terly sem­i­nars to expec­tant fam­i­lies. This quarter’s sem­i­nar will be held on Thurs­day, Sep­tem­ber 24^th at 6:00pm at Gym­boree of Valen­cia. This sem­i­nar will be fea­tur­ing Drs. Horowitz of Dis­cov­ery Pediatrics.

The Santa Clarita Baby Net­work Sem­i­nar will be high­light­ing two main top­ics, “Sick Sea­son For New Babies– When To Call The Doc­tor?” and “Impor­tant Infor­ma­tion On Swine Flu and Babies”. Drs. Horowitz will also be hold­ing a ques­tion and answer ses­sion at the end of the sem­i­nar. Fam­i­lies are invited to bring ques­tions for dis­cus­sion on any topic per­tain­ing to new babies.

Meet one year old Jack­son, we had such a fun ses­sion yes­ter­day! One year olds are such a blast… ani­mated, inquis­i­tive, fast mov­ing. Not the eas­i­est to pho­to­graph but so worth the effort to cap­ture their big per­son­al­i­ties. Jack­son had fun show­ing me some of his favorite toys and demon­strat­ing a one year old’s biggest accom­plish­ment, walk­ing! Enjoy the sneak peek guys, much more to come…

Meet­ing new­born babies just never gets old, and get­ting to pho­to­graph them and cap­ture their tini­ness for ever is crazy. I love my job! Today I got to meet Genevieve, what a lit­tle bun­dle of per­fec­tion. Genevieve is a baby plan­ner so we’ll get to watch her grow as I doc­u­ment her first year, what could be more fun than that? On a side note, I always warn par­ents that their new baby will likely pee or poop on them, me, the floor or all of the above dur­ing our ses­sion. Still I think, they don’t quite believe it until it hap­pens :) I hope you have recov­ered Ken and Ammie, I promised you the results would be worth it and I hope you agree!
