I have been dying to get a fam­ily out to this loca­tion with the wid­flow­ers bloom­ing! This is my sis­ter in law with her very cute lit­tle fam­ily. When they asked to book a fam­ily ses­sion I knew just where I wanted to take them. One of the ben­e­fits, or draw­backs, or hav­ing your sis­ter as your pho­tog­ra­pher is that you get to be guinea pigs for new loca­tions. This spot pho­tographed just like I hoped it would! Announc­ing my first blog con­test! I want to hear about the incred­i­ble moms in your life– your moth­ers, wives, sis­ters, friends, any­one that you think is an incred­i­ble mom. Send an e-mail to:  laurie@lauriesachsphotography.com  telling me why this mom is deserv­ing of a free photo ses­sion and free mounted 11 x 14 print, and include a photo with your sub­mis­sion. Grand­moth­ers, expec­tant moth­ers, step moth­ers, they all count too! A win­ner will be picked by April 30th and the let­ters that touch the hearts of my sappy panel of mommy judges will be posted on my blog along with the photo of the win­ning mom. The only stip­u­la­tion is that this mom must be avail­able for a photo shoot in the Santa Clarita Val­ley dur­ing the month of May, and must appear in the pho­tos. Here are some of the beau­ti­ful moms I have been lucky enough to know and pho­to­graph, and I threw in an out­take with some of the amaz­ing moms in my life that inspire and amaze me every­day– love you!

Today I got to shoot some busi­ness head­shots! This lovely lady is Lisa, the owner and oper­a­tor of Stork Vision of Valen­cia and a reg­is­tered diag­nos­tic med­ical sono­g­ra­pher. (say that 5 times fast!) At Stork Vision she pro­vides expec­tant moms with the most amaz­ing sneak peek of their babies in a fam­ily friendly, non-clinical set­ting. Meet Kirsten and Tyler! Don’t let their sweet smiles fool you, these two gave me a run for my money. How can you be this cute and this uncom­fort­able on cam­era at the same time? Such an excit­ing year, fin­ish­ing high school, get­ting ready to go of to col­lege, wow do they have fun stuff ahead of them! I hope after Kirsten sees these she will tell me I was right about how beau­ti­ful she is!  :)
