Today I got to meet 6 week old Jackson, what a cutie! Six weeks is probably about the toughest age to photograph. They are suddenly super alert but not quite interacting with you yet. Today I got to meet another little Stella! Stella was a feisty one and thought she'd stay awake for her photoshoot but I eventually persuaded her otherwise :) Pictures of kids interacting with their new siblings just kill me, always. Yes... I'm a sap! Today Stella brought along her brother Max for a few photos together. Max was by far my youngest big brother at just 17 months. He was so cute with her I could hardly stand it. He thoroughly checked out her little tummy, her feet and even gave some kisses, crazy cute! I had too many pictures I wanted to share but tried to narrow it down a bit. Little Madelyn was back in the studio this week and she brought her 3 year old brother Collin along! He was so cute I could hardly stand it and you could tell just how much he loved her. He was gentle and calm, I must say I was super impressed. Bud and Cookie have a big, beautiful family! What would any mom want for her birthday? A picture of them all together of course! Their kids decided that's just what they would give her, the only problem was there are 18 of them, this was the only time they'd all be in town together, and it was supposed to rain all weekend! We scrambled to secure an alternate location... and I may have said a few (a lot) of prayers, well Saturday the rain held off just for us and we got their picture. The beautiful blond mom there is my friend Tracy, we have been pals since the 7th grade and I was honored to do this for her family. During our shoot Tracy told me she and her husband had never had pictures taken with them and their 5 kids, that's right never! So Trac, you get a sneak peek of two. This family session took place last month but had to be kept hush hush because it was a gift for their parents anniversary. We had so much fun taking these and even more fun plotting the surprise. They asked me to design a wall grouping of standout mounts for their mom which you can see at the bottom, this is just what they ended up giving her. Their mom loved her gift and I heard some happy tears were shed. This session must hold a record for the absolute most outtakes, maybe I'll do an outtakes post soon so I can share a few, they are hilarious!

I love, love, love my newborns but I don't know, after Miss Peyton 9 months old may be my new favorite age! Peyton came over today for a super secret photo shoot as a gift for her daddy. Now mom has assured me he won't happen onto my blog but if you know this family, shhh!!! It's a secret :) I seriously love these shots so much I want to print myself some wallets! I'm not sure what's been going on, something in the water maybe? but I have had 8 girl babies in a row! Well today that streak was broken with little Jacob. He was so tiny and sweet with the nicest mom, dad, and grandma too. I was honored that Jacob's first trip out of the house since coming home from the hospital was to come and see me. Today I got to do a maternity shoot for the most adorable family! Mom had a duffel bag full of wardrobe changes for everyone, she thought about line, color, texture... um, did I die and go to heaven? Today I got to meet gorgeous Stella! Stella was so sweet and lovely, just not so much a sleeper. She had her own ideas about what she wanted to do and we just had to follow her lead which all worked out fine because we were willing to wait her out. She is also incredibly strong for a 10 day old baby and extremely alert. Not only was she awake much of the time but she had full eye contact with me, like we were old friends having an important conversation. Meet eight week old Brinley and her mom and dad! Recently I had someone ask me if the families on my blog were models! I just love seeing the way new parents look at their babies, tugs my heart strings every time. Meet beautiful four week old Darby and her mom and dad. Darby is a little old for a newborn shoot so we had to really work for it because she didn't want to go to sleep and miss any of the fun! In the end I'm really happy with the way it worked out. Darby's proud grandma was also along for the photo shoot and even stayed up knitting hats last night for the family to wear, how cute is that? All and all they were just a pleasure to photograph. A few weeks ago Inside SCV Magazine called me and asked if they could use some of my photos for their cover and an article in the February issue... Um, yes you can! I was thrilled that they found me and wanted to use some of my babies in their magazine that would be distributed all over the Santa Clarita Valley. They chose an image of sweet Matthew from August for their cover and images of beautiful Raquel and Landon for inside.
